Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.

Student Reviews and Ratings for YTI Career Institute-York
Save your money and go to a real college. It’s not worth all the money you’re spending and you don’t even have to have a vet tech certificate or license to work as a vet tech at places! The classes are boring and made me feel like I’m in high school. If I’m spending thousands of dollars for tuition, I really don’t want to be doing arts and crafts in class. Most of your teachers aren’t even real professors except one, so all you’re learning is out of a book from themSource of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
What is wrong with this place? I have sent 5 requests for transcripts since July 16th via fax and email. I was just transferred to the president when I called and she simply said, "please try to call back Monday!" What kind of a half hazard place is this? I have never had a problem before with any of this.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
The 1 star was because I was able to get a job after gaining a degree from here. The downside was I had to learn everything on the job. During the orientation, the president of the school informed us students that all credits would transfer to any college with no problems. Three years after I graduated I realized that was not true. I went to PSU to start a bachelors program and got a rude awakening. I learned that no courses were direct transfers due to YTI not having a regional college accreditation, which all real universities have. Not only did YTI fail me on transfer credits, but it failed me on the material I learned, it was a joke. If anyone reads this review, please go speak to HACC or your local community college before wasting your time and money at YTI. I guarantee you it will cheaper, you will get a much better education, and you will be able to transfer all credits to further your education. A community college associates will be around 18K and they also help you find a job. YTI tries to hide the financials and act like it's cheaper than community college, it's not. It's over 30K for their 21 month programs. I graduated YTI from the EET program and have been turned down for many, many jobs because of it. I always felt like I had a lesser education than my peers, don't do that to yourself. HACC and PSU York have equivalent programs that will gain you employment with respected companies, and set you up better for your future. They also have much more flexible schedules than YTI. YTI claims they have "career services" and they are always there to help prior students, another lie. I asked them for a copy of the course syllabi and I can't even get them to reply to me. I wonder what else they are hiding.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
While the school can provide a foundation for a future career, you can certainly get a better education elsewhere. The staff here was always changing or if they were working they long term they conveyed their disgruntled feelings about the school to the students. There were terms that our teachers were so far removed from the actual teaching that my classmates had to ask if we would be given any projects to receive a grade as there was very little instruction. The dress code is a joke as people don't even wear shirts and ties professionally anymore and a lot of companies are a lot more relaxed about tardiness than YTI was during my time there. The biggest gripe for me is that the credits are not transferable since this is a technical college and if you want to get a bachelor's degree you have to start over (or test out of courses at another school) so it doesn't provide a good base for furthering yourself. If you want to get an education and stay there, this might be the school for you. It is expensive for what it is and there are better options out there.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Best experience of my life. Not only did I graduate successfully, and with an A average, but I also landed a phenomenal job through the school. The job placement services offered by the school are impeccable, and is one of the main reasons I chose the school. I have a great drafting career ahead of me, and a job which pays well that I love going to every day.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
