Graduation Rate

61%
ABOVE AVERAGE

Wichita Technical Institute graduation rate is above the national average.

61% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Wichita Technical Institute completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

I was a billing/coding student from August 2016 to October 2017. I had a really great experience while completing my education. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive, while the course work prepared me for the real world of medicine. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to further their education.

Overall Rating:

At Wichita Technical Institute I learned about the field of medicine and the role of a medical assistant. A medical assistant cares for the needs of each individual patient, and helps provide them with the best medical care. I had many good instructors and staff members at WTI that helped me graduate from the program. I also appreciate the wonderful classmates, and the shared learning experiences with the other students. The staff at WTI was instrumental in helping prepare me to become a successful medical assistant in the community.Mike Macy, Derby Kansas.

Overall Rating:

I attended aWTI 8 years ago. After graduating I applied for a few medical assistant positions not I wasn’t taking the job search serious because I was still trying to figure out if that’s what I wanted to do. About 4 years ago I decided to take the job search in the medical field serious. The very first clinic I submitted my resume to I got an interview and offered the position at a cardiology clinic. I worked there about a year and a half and got a job at a pain management clinic. After about a year there I got a job working for an internal medicine doctor! Even with my training in school being old it all came back to me. I received some on the job train in other area but I was just surprised with how many clinics actually took a chance on me with the limited experience with only school training. I feel the program was very beneficial with me getting my jobs in the medical field and I feel I learned a lot with my experience there! I appreciate the program a lot and glad I took the course.
