Graduation Rate

Wichita State University graduation rate is below the national average.

45% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Wichita State University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Wichita State University

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

Small, manageable, and easy to maneuver campus with facilities ranging from brand new to a step into the 70s. The schooling is quite good but the university lacks some overall organization which puts the rating much lower. I just edited and lowered my review because people need to know that the university will nickel and dime you at every possible corner and try to make as much money off of their students.

Visiting WSU tonight was my worst experience. My husband and I came here on a Saturday night around 6:30 pm for an event. He got pulled over for an incomplete stop from a stop sign. However, he actually made a complete stop very quickly, because there were no pedestrians, no cars around. We didn't think we have to stop for longer period of time. The police officer came out of no where and pulled us over and accusing him of an incomplete stop. Such action is just wrong for a university's police to do so. Make me think this university is in desperately needing money from anyone they could catch. Who does that? Hiding 1000 feet away and purposely pulling students over on the weekends and accusing them just about any reason they could make. My husband has been going to school here for 2 years, and he has been making the quick complete stop all those time and never even gotten warned that he was suppose to make a long long long stop. Anyways, give a second thought when you come to this school for a visit or for any reasons. Making sure you stop for a long time. Allow ghost to cross the street and avoid hitting imaginary people. You never know which officer will be hiding in the corner watching and desperately in need of giving you a fine!!! This university just really need money from their students. Just an awful school!!!!!!

Overall Rating:

Where to begin? Wichita State University, the place where dreams are made... or stomped on, depending on if you have gotten out of your first choice of major yet. The biggest downside to the university is the width of the parking spaces. I swear the spaces are at least 6 inches smaller than the average space. This makes parking a real hassle, especially when trying to get into the university anytime before 10:00 a.m. considering I am a pretty high maintenance guy. The best part about the school however is that the wildlife is pretty friendly, unless you try to pet the squirrels, they don't like that. Another thing in the school's favor is that there is always a Greek life association attempting to indoctrinate you into their family. This makes the students feel very welcome on campus. Overall WSU is a super legit campus and I'm super glad that I go there.

Overall Rating:

Went to college here for a year. Beautiful campus, great dining, excellent staff, and an overall good experience. There are many clubs to get involved in and so many campus activities. Many of the buildings are modern, including the Student Center and the Dorm. The Dorm- Shocker Hall- is an incredible place to live. When I left, they had just finished building the new Flats on campus, which look amazing as well. Overall, a great college with a beautiful campus that’s relaxing to walk around at night. Many cool sculptures as well!
