Graduation Rate

Wayne Community College graduation rate is below the national average.

20% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Wayne Community College completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

If you have unforseen circumstances and can't attend classes then don't attend here because I had that problem back in 2011 and had to withdraw. I contacted my advisor for a week to let her know what was going on and no response back from her. I had all documentation showing the reason why I was unable to attend so I could see if they could help and still no response. They dropped the ball on me in trying to help me to see if there was anyway possible to continue or a way to withdraw. Now that I am trying to attend another college they will not release my transcript to the other college because I owe money for having to withdraw. I tried to keep up on my end by trying to contact someone to help me with the situation I was going through. The lady today told me that she didn't work there in 2011 so she didn't drop the ball, well you are a representative of Wayne Community College so yeah technically you didn't but you represent Wayne Community College and then she said that there is help for students who have unforseen circumstances but yet not for me back in 2011. Wow... Are you serious??? If they would have contacted me back in 2011 to help find some sort of solution then maybe I could continue my education. Education is the key now days and I can't even continue mine. Thanks Alot Wayne Community College. If I could give them no star I would!

Shockingly, this isn't a bad CC. I found I actually learned more from these classes and the teachers cared more than when I was at ECU. But note, that could've been the program I was going through.

I can not wait to start school here at Wayne Early Middle College High School. It was such a tragedy when the shooting happened but almost everyone has fully recovered from that. From the info that I have gathered it is a lovely school.

It is always a joy to teach at the Small Business Center here. I want to add that Charles Gaylor, the SBC Director, is not only from the area but has a deep passion in making a difference in the local economy. All the people I met in town spoke well of him and his hard work to enhance the downtown business using the resources of the SBC center. Look forward to coming back!
