Graduation Rate

Vanguard College of Cosmetology-Slidell graduation rate is above the national average.

68% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Vanguard College of Cosmetology-Slidell completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

My stylist, Mary is awesome. She asks a lot of questions to get to know you and she makes the time go by so fast with her personality. The staff here is so friendly and they don't push products on you, they make some good suggestions to help maintain your look.

First Off, I am a very PROUD graduate and alumni of this College and institution. Never in my educational career, have I met a group of educators so determined to challenge me, my creativity and thought processes as this place has done. Being a graduate already with a Bachelors degree in something completely different, I had decided to take this chance to be someone I’ve always wanted to be, not for anyone else this time but for myself. I do not write reviews on the whim, I honestly rarely ever write reviews but I felt this needed to be said. The staff at the school deserve every penny they make and much MUCH more. Dealing with students like myself, is not an easy task. From getting us motivated in the morning, and keeping us interested throughout the long days and hours is not a task for any NORMAL human BEING. They work under a lot of stress but always handle it with complete professionalism and confidence they deserve to have. EVEN with SO many students, they made me feel like they personally cared about me and my future. I would have plenty of one on ones with them, when I felt defeated and not talented enough of being a stylist. If I could personally give them a raise, I would. I could honestly NEVER repay them for the education I had left with on my final clock out to prepare me for Salon life and reality. Without the help of my core teacher, Ms Missy, who taught me everything to begin with, My own personal Color specialist Ashley C. Burd who taught me to trust my instincts and what I learned in color and theory, and Brittany Bond on all things creative and out side the box, I could never be the stylist I am today! So many of them deserve to be named, MEREDITH ENXING, STEPHEN GIOE, MS ANDREA, MS DIANE MS CHRISTY MS CAROL!!! State board was stressful, but I was one and done, because THEY PREPARED ME! Blessed to be hired before graduating, in a Top 200 Salon and Northshores BestSalon, I couldn’t have asked for a better preparation. I have worked countless hours on the floor now, with full confidence in myself and my direction I am going in my career. They made me the stylist I am today, and I could not be more thankful. From the moment I walked in and spoke with Heather Cantrell, the admissions leader, and to the second the last confetti fell on my last clock out Day, I felt loved, I felt empowered, I felt like I could be who I set out to be and I could never repay them, honestly. This journey has been amazing, and they helped me take my first steps in this ever changing industry. Thank you. Sincerely, Mimi. 🐥

This was my first time going here to get a hair cut. I was a bit reluctant but you can't beat the price, especially when you are a student on a budget. The service was wonderful; the student that cut my hair was very personable, made me feel at ease, and skills were up to par via the instructor checking it and me liking the cut. They recommended a treatment that I could get done to my hair since it is a bit dry due to past blonde highlights which I appreciated and will be going back to get done. The only thing I wasn't crazy about with my experience is that at the end when checking out I felt like they were a bit pushy in trying to sell their products (which I totally understand; it's a business). Overall, a great experience with professional, friendly people.
