Graduation Rate

Loading...
40%
BELOW AVERAGE

University of Southern Indiana graduation rate is below the national average.

40% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to University of Southern Indiana completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This indicator doesn’t consider students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

Student Reviews and Ratings for University of Southern Indiana

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

I love the fact that USI has only a 38% graduation rate and yet people keep paying us money even though they do not intend to graduate!I love the fact that I can walk the campus of the University of Southern Indiana and see wildlife such as a feral racoon or dog that would bite my finger off if I stuck it near the trash can it is eating out of. I love the fact that it is a short walk to any number of high fat fast food restaurants and high calorie sugary coffee shops on campus. I love the fact that many of the students are in the 250 pound range or higher and that USI is one of the few colleges in the United States that must require students pass a gym class so that they can survive to the end of their Bachelors' degree.I love the fact that students can buy marijuana on campus so easily. I love the fact that these kids keep giving us ridiculous amounts of fees and money when we never teach them much that they can use to obtain work. I love the fact that soon I will have bought my first Ferrari from my work as a professor at the University of Southern Indiana. I love the fact that many of the students are able to find work as exotic dancers at night in Evansville, Indiana to pay the exorbitant "additional fees" we charge for attendance.A fee heaven for administrators, I love that you will see more unnecessary fees added to your bill than anywhere else you could otherwise attend in Indiana. They have a services fee, counseling fee, $130 parking fee, $100 activity fee, extra fees for online courses, extra fees for graduate school courses....I love that the University of Southern Indiana is essentially a casino style business model which siphons money from students in order to fund salaries. A low percentage of their students are employed in their field of study unless the 38% that graduate continue to finish a graduate degree elsewhere. US News currently ranks the University of Southern Indiana as "Below #126" in Midwestern Regional Colleges, the lowest ranking possible. However.... USI does have respectable Undergraduate Health Care programs, Business School, Civil Engineering School and Radio Station and for that I give them 2 1/2 stars for being half of a college.

I was able to buy my first Ferrari after working at USI for 1 year. Our extra fees are ridiculous. Keep paying us kids.. the casino like atmosphere keeps me coming to work every day.Public USI salaries published Spring 2018: 1. Ronald Rochon = $221,824 2. Steven Bridges = $196,410 3. Mohammed Khayum = $174,592 4. Cynthia Brinker = $173,844 5. Ann White = $167,237 6. Zane Mitchell = $161,700 7. James Beeby = $151,110 8. Brian McGuire = $147,270 9. Andrew Wright = $147,270 10. Mark C. Benhard = $144,950And those are just the top 10... there are many, many more above $100,000 that work here.

Overall Rating:

Probably one of the few school campuses where I've seen a dog attack a woman. There is also a group of wild cats and racoons that have the run of the campus. One of the few colleges I've been to where they require students to take a gym class, but there is good reason for it. If you like your women several weight classes above your own, this place has quite a few. I graduated from here and went straight into bartending. It was all worth it.

Overall Rating:

I have two daughters that attend USI. I have been very impressed with the advisors, especially in the nursing department. They have worked with my daughter through some hard years, allowed her to continue to press forward until she accomplished what she needed to get into the nursing program. She is now thoroughly enjoying the experiences she is having in clinicals and classes. Another area I want to share is how the counseling department, dean of students office and public safety cared for one daughter during a time when she was threatened. They worked quickly to protect her, give her the resources she needed and affirm her value as a person through some tough days. Financially affordable, quality education, caring people. Can't ask for much more than that!
