Graduation Rate

The Salon Spa Academy graduation rate is above the national average.

64% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to The Salon Spa Academy completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

Just got my hair cut here by Gabby! She did a great job and was very professional especially when i was a little difficult. Thank you very much!

Overall Rating:

As a student who attended two programs at The Salon Professional Academy, the Esthetician and Massage Therapy course. I cannot say I would recommend this place to get your massage therapy licenses. My instructor was great when she was allowed to teach but the school would forget that they are a school first and focus on the business aspect of the school and not the education. There was many times students in all programs felt they were not comfortable doing certain services because they felt like they haven’t been taught properly or the instructors haven’t spent enough time on the subject. There were times where massage therapy students were pulled from study time to do massages on random walk in clients, other instructors, or even some students. Sometimes the school has a “let’s just wing it” attitude when it comes important manners such as proper policies and procedures. Very frustrating.

I had Courtney do my hair yesterday. She took the time to sit through a long process with me. We went into the appointment not knowing exactly what I was going to get, just that I wanted to have a Smokey tone by the end. She did a great job and finished my hair with ease. Since yesterday I've had several people ask to touch my hair. She made me feel like a rockstar. She's a great stylist. Also has a wonderful personality. I highly recommend her for any service! She is confident and knowledgeable.

Overall Rating:

Battle Creek location. Just had an eyelash extension appointment canceled for the 3rd time. Once bc the student (Courtney) didn’t show up and the staff didn’t know until I was there for the apt????. Canceled once because they didn’t have the product on hand. And today I found out when I called to advise I’d be 5 min late, that Courtney didn’t feel comfortable doing the lashes bc they didn’t have the bottom lash pads in. They were previously done with tape by a different student. For the second time, I find out at the time of the apt. No advance notice.Would absolutely NOT recommend this location, poorly run (inventory not in, unaware that the student wasn’t there for a scheduled apt, and for the second time, cancelling at the time of the apt, not teaching the students professionalism of any kind). Secondly, I would not recommend Courtney for any service. Completely unreliable and unprofessional.
