Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.
The student-to-faculty ratio at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is 17:1, that means that for every 17 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Student Reviews and Ratings for The Art Institute of Pittsburgh
My daughter wanted to go to this school so bad, I had to take Out a 17,000 parent loan because the tuition is so high and we can't get any help. She wasn't doing that great in her classes and not once did they try to get help for her, then after 8 mths of her being there it's time to take Out another 17,000 loan!!! So needless to say I had to bring her home because they sure don't help you trying to find other ways like student loans or anything!!!Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
just like carnegie mellon’s school of art, another garbage pittsburgh art school designed to ruin people’s lives. it should be shut down- a fradulent scam with abusive faculty (looking at you Margaret) and a total waste of time and money.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I'm still bothered by my experience at AIPO. So much that I can't even write a proper review. I attended online in 2013, the worst mistake of my life! These people stole my money and NEVER sent the correct software for my courses. They also had control of my funds so I couldn't just buy what I needed on my own without coming out of pocket. Also, they said my tuition payment would be one rate, but when I started courses the rate jumped over $100 a month??? And why don't they have the money to cover that since THEY ALREADY HAVE MY FUNDS?? I still need help trying to get this situation corrected. I really want to file a lawsuit against the institute, what they're doing is immoral.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I took the Online Interior Design course for an Associate of Arts. I was told in the beginning that all the courses I took would be accepted at all colleges in the country. Turns out this is a lie. AI is a nationally accredited FOR-PROFIT school, and NONE of the "college courses" I took are transferable. These courses included Algebra 1 and Writing 1 - all Freshman classes required in colleges and universities throughout the United States. In addition, the tuition for ONE year at this "college" (lost accreditation the same year I stopped going) was ridiculous.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
They lied to me about what the program I was signing up for actually taught. Then when I wasn't good at it they belittled me and I eventually left with no degree and a significantly higher amount of debt than they said I would have. Then to top it off they called and harassed me for more money and threatened to send a debt I never recieved a bill for to collections. That debt has never once appeared on my credit, they were trying to scare me into giving them an extra $6,000.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
