The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.
Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t consider students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Southwestern Community College is 15:1, that means that for every 15 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Southwestern Community College
Used to be a quality educational institution but ubiquitous national rankings drove a business mentality into education. Unless pursuing a trade certificate, current and future students would be best suited to go to WCU with the reduced tuition.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
SCC certainly has some good things, but some problems and discrimination also. I frequently instruct specialty courses in the surrounding area. A current English Instructor, and past Department Chairman, Chris Cox, once told me that attendance at a Marilyn Manson concert or devil worship could be a students personal Spiritual Health. This was during a conversation, when Chris Cox was stating his opposition to a Biblical reference, even though it was in the college textbook. Chris later tried to falsify his way out of the statement and ended up apologizing to a local reporter reporting on the story, and was removed from the Department Chair position.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™

A wonderful place to learn and teach. I have had the pleasure to teach Social Media Marketing and other classes for the Small Business Center here. It is a beautiful campus in the mountains with an amazing library.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
