Graduation Rate

Southern Careers Institute-Austin graduation rate is below the national average.

31% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Southern Careers Institute-Austin completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

This place is a joke. When I first signed up, I was told I would have all the resources I need to know everything there is to know about accounting. I talked to Edna, one of the counselors from the San Antonio location. She conveniently failed to mention that the core accounting classes would be completely online and there would be no instructors. All of the students taking the class with me have asked the school why they don't have instructors for the main class we're getting our trade for. They claim it's because there are not enough students to have a teacher for the accounting class, but they had no problem giving us a teacher for customer service, which shouldn't even be a class because a monkey could do it. This school is so unorganized and they don't know the top from the bottom. They leech upon people who work full time and want to go back to school, knowing full well that they don't have the resources the students need to succeed. To put it bluntly, they are liars. They will not help you, and they couldn't care less whether or not you graduate from the school, I'm sure they'll charge me double the interest either way though.

I made a complete career change when I started my training at Southern Careers Institute. I needed a stable career to continue providing for my growing family. SCI provided me with what I needed to know & how that I needed to understand and acquire a career in the medical field. SCI taught me that it doesn’t matter where you are in life right now; you always have room to advance & learn. I have a good stable job & I’m able to provide for my growing family 🥰

Do Not go to this school!!!! Do not waste your money. There is no billing and coding instructor on campus, and the other teachers for the other programs are not knowledgeable at all. Go to ACC or ANYWHERE else. Please take my advice and do yourself a huge favor and keep scrolling right past this schools page, and go on to something that you will learn from and be successful in.

Don’t go here. It’s not worth the money you pay. Basically teaching myself and nobody is willing to listen and help my concerns. I am and always have been a straight A student so this is very frustrating for me when I’m given a grade that I don’t deserve. Do not recommend. I’m sure there’s better education out there
