62%
ABOVE AVERAGE

South Texas Vocational Technical Institute-Weslaco graduation rate is above the national average.

62% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to South Texas Vocational Technical Institute-Weslaco completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

Overall Rating:

Horrible Executive director, since she arrived the campus has lost 8 employees. She does not know how to do her job and wings it. She has other directors doing her job. She is a racist person in which she can deny, however behind closed doors she discriminates and talks about her students. Students, please go to another school that provides quality education. This school is sucking money and financial aid from the students and not focused on their actual education. They pass everyone as long as they pay. Even if you are failing they will go around to pass the students.

Overall Rating:

The staff is okay, the teachers talk about students behind their backs... I’ve heard it plenty of times cause I’m a work study. They also have their favorites; most of the time they can’t control their class, but they do teach very well, and once you finish the pay for this certification is not good at all... but hey at least you got certified.👏🏻

Overall Rating:

The education is good no complaint there. Lab work is limited depending on the size of the class, I suggest to new students take the initiative and stay after for tutoring, there is favoritism watch out for that (Dental Assisting Program) that caused me a lot of issues. Keep to yourself too much drama, best instructor is Ms. Lopez overall demeanor and instruction & tutoring she is more people friendly and will keep up with you at your pace! If you have doubt in yourself, stay focused you can make it effort is on your own merits down give up on yourself!
