Student Reviews and Ratings for Sharon Regional Health System School of Nursing
After years of living in the area, I moved to Louisville, KY. When I moved, it was discovered the heart palpitations I was told were benign by Sharon Cardiology & Sharon Regional ER we’re actually a serious rhythm issue. My father passed from a heart attack at this hospital and was a diabetic. My mother has heart issues and is a diabetic too. Both my parents took Glipizide with Beta Blockers. These were prescribed by doctors associated with Sharon Regional. Surprise! Surprise! 3 big city cardiologists said “YOU CAN’T MIX THOSE MEDS BECAUSE THEY CAUSE SEVERE LIFE THREATENING HEART ATTACKS!” When we told them how this was prescribed by Sharon Regional doctors where we used to live, they were in shock no one ever checked or knew about the interactions! The response from one doctor was, “They need to read a 2019 study and not rely on what was taught in 1980.” Luckily, we no longer live there but if I were still an area resident, I’d go to UPMC. I’m convinced Sharon Regional and it’s doctors do more harm than good out of ignorance! It’s understandable that Sharon is a small town but the residents deserve better! At least UPMC gets its information from its research in Pittsburgh. It’s sad to claim you’re this great cardiology hospital that saves lives when you’re truly not. I suppose people will say anything for profit though. SAD.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
They dont know what they are doing in this place i bring someone in for a procedure and the paper they give you about the tracking dont match what they put on the monitor . Befor that they gave me the info and got my phone number to call me after the procedure i went out to grab my phone and they put a whole nother person down to call and contact if my life depended on it i wouldnt have nothing done here. Also anytime i ever went to other hospitals they offered free coffee to those waiting on someone haveing surgery not here they clearly have a sign saying kcups in vending machine so your gonna pay a follar for a kcup.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Was there afternoon of 3-9-2019 due to hypoglycemic shock and problem with diabetes and blood thinner meds. Was admitted reasonably quick, assessed by Dr Shellenbarger, had head and chest CT, EKG, blood tests, etc. Easily noticed that the contractor security “service” was woefully under or non-trained. Seem more interested in gaggling around the ED entrance and the waiting area TV. The ED nurse was attentive and kept checking on me and insured I got back to normal with glucose and other meds. Biggest complaint was that the ED could have been a lot cleaner; department cleanliness should be an ED priority. Seems like facility and property security would be much stronger and a corporate concern. Was discharged after about 4 plus hours to home, with follow up by PCP on 3–11-2019. Due to extenuating medical circumstances over the past 2 years, I’ve had multiple “visits”, and have reasonably good care (i.e., cardiology, kidney, auto accidents, etc.) IMHO, Steward corporate needs more patient care and less Benjamin’s in the bank.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
We had our daughter at Sharon 2 years ago and they screwed up her birth certificate by spelling her first name wrong. We just had our other daughter there not even 2 weeks ago and we got her birth certificate and social security card in the mail and they spelled our last name wrong on both. All we want to do is spend time with our kids and now I have to fix their very stupid and careless mistake that never should have happened in the first place. I filled out the required paperwork for these documents so they had the right information right in front of their faces and yet they still couldn't do their job right. I will never have another child there because I'm tired of fixing other people's mistakes.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Brought my 11 yr old daughter into the Er on Saturday with a high fever cough and vomiting .After being there for hours one person comes in and looks at her for less then a minute and says she has an ear infection didn’t swab her for the flu or anything sent us home with antibiotic. Followed up on Monday with her pediatrician and she looks at both her ears and says she does not have an ear infection at all her ears aren’t even red! She tested positive for the flu! This hospital is completely incompetent and a joke !Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
