Graduation Rate

Loading...
79%
ABOVE AVERAGE

Sewanee-The University of the South graduation rate is above the national average.

79% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Sewanee-The University of the South completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Sewanee-The University of the South

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

Garden variety gentrification in a poor but beautiful part of the country. Outside of academia, its difficult to adequately staff, probably because of its exteme seclusion. The administration is problematic and campus PD is downright abysmal. There's a vast disconnect between the student body and the governing forces. Although, it all looks good.

Overall Rating:

If you are tooling along Interstate 24 (Between Nashville and Chattanooga) get off at exit 134 and drive the short 6 miles to The University Of The South in Sewanee. Why you ask? Because it is one of the most beautiful campuses you will ever see. Most buildings are Gothic style made from local stone. Check out the book store and get a cool T-shirt. Be awed by the 'All Saints Chapel' or the splendor of the 'Chapel of the Apostles'. Be wowed by the fireplace in 'Ayers Hall'. Look at the magnificent book shelves in the 'Jessie Ball duPont Library'. There so many other remarkable buildings to see - McClurg Hall, Snowden Admin Building. And if you are a hiker, try the Perimeter Trail to see awesome views from the top of the Cumberland Plateau.

Overall Rating:

What an absolutely gorgeous campus. The chapel is breathtaking. It made me wish I could go to college again. A wonderfully small campus with big impact offers a quality education with plenty of majors to choose from especially if you love the outdoors and are interested in an environmental path, but don't let that stop you if you are looking for any other major. This gem of a university is top notch. Not only will you get a degree but you will enjoy the most stunning campus and a little ride up the road you can check out a view of the valley that can inspire even the most exhausted student.

Overall Rating:

One of the most beautiful University Chapels in the United States and perhaps the finest. Magnificent campus. An exceptional institution with superb English and Environmental/ Earth Studies departments. The School of Theology is the only graduate school and provides an overarching sense of stewardship that the entire school buys into. A surprising number of Rhodes Scholars churned out of there.
