Graduation Rate

Saint Xavier University graduation rate is below the national average.

51% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Saint Xavier University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Saint Xavier University

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

I currently attend SXU and it has been nothing but a headache. The professors and my classes are not what is wrong here, they are exceptional. Unfortunately, my issues come from the everywhere else. I have had several incidents with the financial aid office because they have either forgotten to give me vital information or have forgotten to post my awards, which should be the simplest thing to do. The department of education has consistently given me wrong information regarding my ACT scores. At first, I wasn't going to be charged a fee and all I had to do was send them to the school. I ended up paying $70 to send my scores to SXU because that is what the incompetent staff TOLD me I had to do. Now I have pay another $70 to send them somewhere else. It is completely unprofessional and I hope they correct these problems in the future. Thank you for constantly making my life more difficult SXU, great job so far.

Worst 4.5 years of my life. Unless you enjoy your day being insulted in every way imaginable, go somewhere else. Money-grubbing liberals run this "catholic" university.

Very big and calm campus. My husband went here for college.

Overall Rating:

Don't go here if you're not a football player or majoring in nursing! This school is garbage! I majored in music education and piano performance. The professors didn't give a damn about their students. The campus was garbage too! Goose poop everywhere you walk! Dirty lake water! Dorm water was different colors as if it was sponsored by Skittles (I kid you not!) My dorm room was literally a janitors closet! You're better off going elsewhere for school than SXU. Again, unless you want to be a nurse or doctor.

Overall Rating:

This review is purely based on my experiences and what I witnessed. If you are planning on attending this “institution” in the pursuit of an education degree, then this is a great place for that, otherwise pay a little more and go to either Loyola, NU, U of C or save money and go to a state school. Favoritism is absolutely rampant within the university as well as subjective grading (e.g. A.D.). If you are on a sports team, you are guaranteed a 3.0 average (this is a fact). I have never witnessed so much cheating in my entire life, until I attended here. The worst person I had to ever deal was in the Sociology Department (i.e. E.W.). “The reason why black people are in jail is because they are angry”, yes he said this. Overall the administration are not nice people. Honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone to a state school. The sad thing about this place, the student body exhibits a lot of ageism. Meaning, if you are over 27 years old go to a different place.
