Graduation Rate

40%
BELOW AVERAGE

Saginaw Valley State University graduation rate is below the national average.

40% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Saginaw Valley State University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

Great place to go to school. Currently writing this review from a nice computer in the library. =)

Overall Rating:

This University is absolutely disgusting. They are racist. Point blank period. They have arrested countless African American students for simply playing basketball on their OWN campus. The campus security is prejudice towards African Americans and they look to provoke situations with that particular demographic in an attempt to arrest them and have them expelled from the university. Abosuletly disgusting. Do not support this RACIST university that TARGETS young African American males. They have made so many wrongful arrest towards JUST African Americans that the police department no longer allows them to detain students.

Overall Rating:

I went to SVSU for 3 years. The math department is terrible, the instructors have no idea what they are talking about and will not listen to students. The university does not seem to care about this. The level of administrative incompetence is also staggering. I ran into numerous issues with campus financials and the registrars office. After 3 years I decided to transfer out. When I tried to get my transcripts sent to my new university I ran into more issues. There are some great students and professors here, but the administration has no idea what they are doing. My advice would be to go to Delta or CMU.
