Graduation Rate

21%
BELOW AVERAGE

Ozarks Technical Community College graduation rate is below the national average.

21% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Ozarks Technical Community College completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

Overall Rating:

Springfield public schools junior...you have second rate teachers, attendance policies that mirror high school, poor library. Overall there is no advancing a student to act as an adult; the policies continue to cater to the millennial that needs you to hold their hand.Idk why but they decided to block off the street running east & west on Central. What’s the point of this big roundabout that taxpayer money was spent on if you just removed the main traffic flow later? Total waste of budget at this school. Security is a joke too....

OTC has an excellent Allied Health Department! We are so lucky to have OTC here in Springfield Mo!

Overall Rating:

If I could give less than one star, I would. They draw you in with the promise and frequent reassurance that you'll be able to get a degree by taking only evening/night classes...you spend FOREVER waiting for them to process your financial aid packet (submitted in MAY, not processed until December), have several meetings with an advisor to determine what degree most accurately lines up with your goals (while still being reassured that you can do this with only evening/night classes)...finally, everything falls into place so you can start planning out your courses and register for your first semester. Except you find out that you CAN'T do it all with evening/night classes, that in every program they offer, there are required classes that are only available during the day.

Overall Rating:

I loved it at OTC! There are many great benefits going here first before a university. For one it's way cheaper, free parking, smaller classes, teachers actually care about you (unlike universities), and they will accept the majority of credits from other colleges if you transfer over. The big thing for me was my A+ Scholarship. OTC accepted my A+ as free college and books for two years, unlike MSU that will only take $500 a semester. OTC was a great experience for me, wish it was a university and not just a community college though.
