Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This index doesn’t consider students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Niles School of Cosmetology is 10:1, that means that for every 10 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

I started Niles School of Cosmetology 1 year ago. In this 365 days I managed to finish a school, take state exam, receive my license and got a job! What an amazing year! When I started to look for a school I was not sure what to choose Esthetician or Cosmetology. Esthetician license will only allow you to do Facial and faxing, while Cosmetology one will let you do the same plus hair (what will bring you a lot more money) and nails. I checked all other school near my district and Niles school had the best price and a lot more customers than other schools. And this school was in business for more than 30 years. A lot of people know about it and a lot of salon owners come here to recruit new employees. I was blessed with teachers too. Love all of them! If you are immigrant like me, and your English is far from being good, dont worry in a few month you gonna speak fluently. Give it a try! Im 100% satisfied!Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Out of all the cosmetology schools in Chicago, I’m really glad I chose Niles. The teachers here really have a lot of experience with cutting hair and always take the time to give good demonstrations. I looked at a lot of other hair schools out there and settled on this one because of price. The classes, as well as the courses are pretty fun. Some of the technical stuff can be kind of boring, but we have to learn it for the state license exam. Most of the knowledge I now know comes from cutting hair in the school’s hair salon. Reading info in a book is a lot different than doing it in real life. I started going part time and then switched to full time after a few months. I would totally recommend this school to anyone who wants good training or is thinking about costs.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
