Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Magnolia College of Cosmetology is 18:1, that means that for every 18 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Student Reviews and Ratings for Magnolia College of Cosmetology
I went for a simple shampoo and blowout and the young lady who did my hair was unprepared and definitely had no clue what she was doing. I wonder what the qualifications are for the students to be on the floor because there has never been a time where I have gone and received proper service. This time, I had to provide my ((own)) comb and product... and walk her through what needed to be done to my natural hair. She still didn't do it. And I STILL walked away with MAJOR damage because she did not know how to detangle wet hair and also was determined to use a BRUSH to blow dry my hair, which I later found out was a HUGE no-no. Her instructor saw her doing it as well as several other students (just sitting around) and no one even said anything. Also, she did not even dry my whole head. I'm assuming her arms got tired.I am so sad about my hair. She marveled at its length and health the whole time and I wound up leaving with irreversible damage...I fear that I may have to cut it and start all over. And that is why I finally decided to leave a review to warn everyone else.I always say it's my last time every time I go. But this was DEFINITELY the last straw. Also, this student mentioned a tip in front of me which is extremely offputting and unprofessional.I don't know what is going on in this school, but they definitely aren't preparing them for the real world. I dont think they should be allowed on the floor without all the necessary tools. And certainly shouldn't be allowed to provide certain services unless the instructors check them for preparedness first. Because even with a discount, we are STILL paying customers and deserve to be treated as such.Anyway. If you are considering going there for anything other than a kids style or a basic rollerset/finger waves, please reconsider. These students are NOT ready. If I could take further action I would, but I'm pretty sure that's what the waiver they make you sign before receiving service is for.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™

They are not prepared to maintain an afro. There wasn't an afro pick in the whole school. I just don't think they are being taught how to maintain an afro. Go somewhere else.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
