83% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to La James College of Hairstyling and Cosmetology completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

A girl that goes to the college did my makeup they way they taught her how to do makeup and it looked HORRIBLE!! She didn't prime my skin, sh did my foundation all caked on, she didnt know how to contour or even use bronzer or highlighter, when she did my eyebrows she didn't make them the shape of my natural eyebrows and she didn't do darkest color on the outside lightest color on the inside she did it all one color and didn't fade the inside, when she did my eye shadow she used two colors (green and gold) and when she did it she put the green on my lid and the gold right on top of the green on my lid she did not blend my eyeshadow she didn't even have the right brushes she did wings way to thick and instead of using liquid liner she used pencil and I have a hooded eyelid and the way she had the wing is it was higher then my hood and the wing was just all wrong it completely covered the eyeshadow too. She used a bright pink lipstick and I'm tan it made me look orange I asked her not to use the color and she did anyway. And to top it all off she didn't even put mascara on me I took that makeup off right away because it looked just awful!!

I am from northern Minnesota and looked at a lot of college's. My experience with the college was fantastic. I loved the dorms, the friendly atmosphere. I attended the Summer Program for Cosmetology and had a blast. I can't hardly wait to return this year. My teachers were the best. You can't ask for more.... Have fun and see you all soon.

Overall Rating:

I graduated from the Original La' James college in Mason City, Iowa, - twice! First for my cosmetology license and second time for my instructors license. This college has more that half a century of greatness in the community. I have worked for some of the most prestigious folks in the industry like Jeri Redding and Paula Kent. I have competed on a state and national level and held offices in NCA. This place of learning is progressive with the latest in techniques and forward fashions. They are helpful with student loans to finance your dream and are accredited at the highest of standards. In this career I have found friends, my calling, fun opportunities, my mortgage payment, my children's tuitions, and a career that I have been able to take with me from state-to-state! What a great gift of education this college provided for me.

Overall Rating:

I just graduated this last winter from La James College in Mason City Iowa. I wanted to say that it was well worth it for me to travel 1100 miles to college. I searced all over for cosmetology college's and I had narrowed it down to 4 choices. I visited all 4 and chose La James College. I moved to Mason City in 2007 and started classes in October of that year for Cosmetology. I graduated in March of 2009 and moved back to Leesburg Virginia. The college not only gave me a great education but also helped me find a job and get licensed in my home state. I loved the teachers and students. I had a fantastic college experience. I would highly recommend the college to anyone looking for a great college and fun learning experience. I stayed in the dorms which was perfect for me traveling so far to college. I met students from all over the country and a few students were in college with me from other countries too. I am still in contact with a bunch of my classmates and some are still in college there. I will go back to visit this summer sometime to say hi to everyone and to see my best friend graduate. Thanks for everything La James.
