Student Reviews and Ratings for Jameson Health System
Come here only if you want to see what healthcare in America is about. Profit over patient care. Our local hospital is gone forever and turned into a medical center. We now have to deal with burned out big city e.r. docs who have no compassion left for patients. Staff that's overworked and under staffed, an abusive cardiology department with no concern for your pain management during surgery. I terminated my care with my cardiologist here because UPMC's policy is to keep the doctors busy with other things. A doctor who's too busy to check-in with her patients one floor above her department because that's the true UPMC way. Current cardiologist has informed me that he will never send me there for any procedures because there's no back up if things require more intervention. Hence why we have gone from 1 to 2 life flights a month to 5 or 6 a day.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Misdiagnosed my 6 year olds MRSA as a simple finger infection, they gave us the wrong meds and are just now contacting me 3 days later. They never tried to get the infection out either which busted open on it's own . I have 3 other children, if you know about MRSA it's contagious through skin to skin contact and of course my child has been playing with the other, so now I have to worry about my others being effected as well. Thanks a lot Jameson.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Only waited in the ER waiting room for less than 15 minutes. Nurses were friendly. It did take a while for my results to come back. But overall pretty satisfied with my experienceSource of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I fractured my hip on a Friday morning, checked in Friday at 5:30pm, 1/18/19. Had surgery Saturday around 2:30pm and was home Monday by 1:00pm. It was a bad weather weekend and they were short staffed but my care was EXCELLENT. I was on 2NW. The nurses and aides who showed up each day and night were all efficient and kind. Of course, I was a model patient, I didn’t take anything after surgery except Tylenol. They’re not used to that at all. I commend them all for doing a great job that weekend, they were busy!! Thank you Leah, Jamie, Bethany, Shelby and all the others who helped take care of me!!Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Expect your ER visit to be a few hours long, the vast majority of it waiting for someone to see you. Not a huge deal, there aren't enough doctors, what can you do? There's wifi, anyway. The staff is decent to good at what they do. The doctors are knowledgeable, if a bit uncaring as ER doctors tend to be due to volume. Staff shift lengths are, based on what I've heard from nurses, too long. I haven't seen any sign of the universal unfriendliness people seem to complain about. Makes me think maybe they're the common denominator for a reason. If you're bleeding out, the last thing you're going to do is look at reviews. It's a hospital. They do what they can.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
