Graduation Rate

63%
ABOVE AVERAGE

Iowa School of Beauty-Des Moines graduation rate is above the national average.

63% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Iowa School of Beauty-Des Moines completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

I have been calling every week to speak with the Admissions Director and she is never available. I leave voicemails and my contact information to the ladies who answer the phones . I am interested in attending this school but whats the point if the Director doesnt even TRY to reach out to potential students ..

I went for a manicure. I ask if they did French manicure and they told me they don't actually teach the students how to do nails at this location. I wish I would of just left then, but I didn't. The student was very friendly but my nails were not done professionally. It was more like a manicure I do at home. I got them done four days ago and every nail is chipped so I already need them redone. I do not recommend you get your nails done as they have few tools. She did not trim my cuticles, only add oils and lotion, and did a hand soak. They did not have a nail dryer. I wasn't adding fake nails which is also on their list of services, just a simple manicure. She did a good job shaping the nails. The student did an excellent job considering she was never taught and it isn't her fault they don't teach it there but they need to take it off the list of services if they do not teach unless you like paying $10 for a shape, and paint job that looks like you did it yourself.

Hi, I'm Jessie. My experience here at ISB have been really positive for me, I love the staff and the students are really nice. I come to school hoping to always learn something new. The speakers we get are pretty much what I enjoy specially when it's about makeup.... I love makeup a lot. The instructors are one on one and I love that because that's the best way for me too learn, an I love how are relationship is because I have a bond here with everyone. I love our new instructor Amy she really makes me feel happy and comfortable at school she's like a mom to me, she teaches me so many new techniques an I'm grateful for the time she gives me. I'm grateful to be at this school doing what I love and that's to make a difference in myself and a difference for everyone. Personally, this is the school is for me. The Prosper U is a great system to learn for the world specially for you're professional side. ☺️ I love this school with all of my heart and I love the instructors as I said there all like moms to me, they care about me. An it might be just me I didn't have a mom there for me and support me like they do. And I'm grateful for everything they have taught me and they have pushed me through things that I thought I could not do, but in the end I could I just needed a push. That's my experience here at ISB, it's like a second home. ❤️️
