Graduation Rate

Loading...
31%
BELOW AVERAGE

Indiana University-Southeast graduation rate is below the national average.

31% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Indiana University-Southeast completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Indiana University-Southeast

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

I made the mistake of going here without really considering what I actually wanted to do- just as long as it meant getting a degree in SOMETHING. Now I'm stuck here and I really hate it. A lot of the classes are pretty easy for me but the major I'm in was never my first choice and its hard to relate to a lot of people as they're either just going to school and going home and don't have time for friends (that or they're like 40 year old single moms). I'm heartbroken that I basically cant go anywhere else now or change my major because of how limited the options are here. Just take my advice and don't settle. Consider going somewhere else.

Overall Rating:

I personally really enjoyed my time here. As others said, being a bit off the beaten path it's more of a commuter school feel. I think they're trying to change that and it shows with campus life having started to pick up in the past few years and the addition of dorms. Overall though my concentration in business and finance the professors were extremely knowledgeable and had a wide range of ideological backgrounds so you were challenged in thinking outside the box. Not sure what these others reviewers concentrations were, but no school can be great in everything. They are great in their business programs though.

Overall Rating:

My experience with IUS' School of Business and their MBA program have been overwhelmingly positive. Small but gorgeous campus, small class sizes, and conveniently located close to New Albany and Louisville. Many people act like IUS isn't a "real" university, but don't be fooled. I spent a fraction of what someone at U of L would have on my degrees and am making just as much as (if not more) than those people are.

Overall Rating:

I attended IUS while it was still located in Jeffersonville then received my ADN at the New Albany campus in 1976. I have now completed the requirements needed for a BS but not in nursing as this would require me to either test out of the classes I am already proficient in and pay for the credit hours once again or retake the classes. Other than this one problem I have never found anything else to be critical of on campus. I have never had a professor who was not qualified to teach and learned much more here than I did the year I attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN. IUS is no longer a commuter only campus as there is on campus housing along with several new small apartment complexes near campus which appear to be meant for students since they have several flights of stairs and no elevators. IUS does have a higher number of older students but that is part of the beauty of this campus. The older students are part of the population at the other campuses also but just not as visible as classes aren't offered at times convenient to the adult student working full time at the larger universities. I found it very informative to sit next to students 30 years my senior and 30 years younger on the other side. I was exposed to a wide range of viewpoints to learn from and to share without having any arguments. The environment is very conducive to learning, learning how to live in a grown up world for those first experiencing this side of life and/or learning just because I want to learn more and know more about the world around me. The non-credit courses I have taken have really been enjoyable. I took two semester of mountain dulcimer lessons and continue to play for my enjoyment today. There are numerous opportunities outside of for credit courses for a campus this size. I was never aware of any of these type of activities at Ball State. I had to park my car miles away from the dormitory and walk to it when it was needed. There was no security like the security on the IUS campus when you have a late at night class or need to go to the parking lot miles away in the dark. Those who have been critical of the campus don't realize what a gem we have right out or door steps or were looking for the big campus life and disappointed that it wasn't found at IUS.

Overall Rating:

I earned both master's degrees in business from the dual MBA/MSSF program. Excellent school boasting a great curriculum, great staff, beautiful campus, and very favorable costs per credit hour. I can't say enough great things about this school. My time there will forever be in my heart and will take my career to the top of my industry!
