Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

In the past I have had negative experiences with the receptionist at the Blue Spings location. She is extremely unprofessional and acts as though I am an inconvenience to her socializing. There have been numerous occasions where I was waiting for my grandmother to get her hair done and asked to have my nails done. Rather than even checking the system she just says they have no availability. This hurts the students here trying to learn. Aside from the poor attitude observed at the front desk, I just had the absolute worst nail experience. The girl who did my gel polish was wonderful and professional; however, the tools she was given set her up to fail. The LED lamps don't work here so don't waist your time or money!!! My nails were painted 10 minutes ago and all of the polish has nearly come off because it couldn't cure. Not to mention this "gel manicure" took over an hour to do because again the lamps don't work. My nails look terrible!! I still tipped my gal because it wasn't her fault at all BUT I'm disappointed I spent $15 on polish that has already rubbed off. Their other services are ok BUT DO NOT get your nails done here!

Overall Rating:

I finished my Cosmetology program in Dec 2010 and I had an amazing experience with House of Heavilin. Shortly after starting school my house burned down and left my husband, 2 sons and myself with nothing. Instructors called, students collected clothing and other things we were in need of and they never once acted like it was an inconvenience for me to take a short leave of absence. I had only been in school 4 weeks when this happened and the hospitality I was shown I will never forget. The instructors were all very helpful during my time there, we were educated in the classroom and on the salon floor daily. I highly recommend House of Heavilin to whomever is interested in the Cosmetology program. If you as a student are willing to do your best, you will accomplish great things with their knowledge and help.
