Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Harrisburg Area Community College-Harrisburg is 15:1, that means that for every 15 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Harrisburg Area Community College-Harrisburg
Great place to learn. Professors seem to care about your successSource of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I’m not the type to write a negative review but HACC is not AT ALL friendly for adult learners who work full time to put themselves through school. Their education department is especially terrible when it comes to this. I’m 5 classes away from being done with my degree and I’m now discovering I’m not going to be able to finish it due to the staff’s unwillingness to consider my needs. There has only been one professor/staff member there who has treated me as a student and not just a number or tuition $$$. Also unhappy that the website states their Bookstore is open until 7:00 on Thursdays but they were already closed when I along with 2 other students arrived there at 6:15. When someone works full time and has an evening class this is very impractical. Stay far, far away from this place!!! They’re only hungry for your money and don’t care at all about you as a person or about you finishing your degree. Oh and I almost forgot to add that it is insanely overpriced. Be sure to compare tuition rates against other community colleges in the area.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Over priced college. They make you take unnecessary classes and prerequisites to jack up your tuitions/loan to pay back later on. The NURSING Instractors are horrible to say the least. Lots of discrimination. The first time I ever felt safe being white was here. I never believed that discrimination existed until enrolling here. I saw so many minority's that were just as smart as the whites and just as dedicated as a white person in the program getting terrified to be in the program. They fail the minority's for the most non sense things ever to just get rid of them so that they can re-take the same course and pay again. Money 💰 money, money. Donot go to this school as a NURSING student unless you are WHITE. By the time I graduated there was only one black person and the rest couldn't make it due to the discrimination.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
The Admissions staff are absolutely fantastic. They will sit and work with you, no matter how many times your schedule changes. Their willingness to go the extra mile was incredible. Beautiful campus.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I took a few summer classes here. From my experience and the experiences of some of my friends, I strongly suggest finding another affordable institution of higher learning. Their professors lack knowledge of their subject matter and treat students as if they were drones. The only redeeming quality of this institution was a few secretaries that were incredibly kind and helpful.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
