Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Harrisburg Area Community College-Harrisburg is 15:1, that means that for every 15 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Harrisburg Area Community College-Harrisburg
The school system is bad and teaching style is not effective. I could do the same at home “ read and write” . I do now. The research homework’s has to be done in their library but online actually because they don’t have the book physically and limited resources.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Some of the best years of my life were spent here at HACC. The professors were great, made lifetime friends, and was a inexpensive high quality education which I then was able to complete my Bachelor's. The campus is beautiful and well kept too. I miss my days at HACC.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I’m an adult student, with full time job and three kids who all have activities of their own. I have tried for several years to work my way through the RN program. Unfortunately they are constantly changing the program and the requirements. This makes it EXTREMELY difficult to complete as a part time student. After multiple meetings with my advisor, I’ve finally given up. If I was an 18yo snot nosed kid GACC would work for me. But as I’m not. I’m done. HACC IS NOT GEARED TOWARDS AN ADULT STUDENT.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
HACC's Workforce Development Team is top-notch, experienced, and ready to help you fulfill your professional and personal goals.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Most professors are nice but my overall experience was bad. I went here to try to accomplish a 2 year degree but every time course selection came around they didn’t have the classes I needed so I got stuck taking hardly any credits each semester. The majority of advanced classes are online only. They offer almost zero advanced courses in a classroom. So happy I made the decision to transfer. Not to mention how every time I scheduled a meeting with an advisor it either got cancelled without notice or they changed me to a new advisor who could not give me a single piece of useful advice.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
