Graduation Rate

Gwynedd Mercy University graduation rate is above the national average.

63% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Gwynedd Mercy University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t consider students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

Overall Rating:

I love how the campus is off on its own and a lot of the teachers iv had are very nice. but nursing program is very hard and the teachers in the program are rude, only a few are nice. I ask questions all the time and they tell me I should know it and don't answer me. The teachers don't wanna work with students who take a while to understand the material, they rather work with kids who already know it and are very smart. Also speaking with many juniors, they have told me that their nursing class started with 200 students sophomore year and by junior year 100 kids dropped out. I don't know if the school thinks this is good cause they're left with the best but half the class dropping out just for being in junior year is not something to be proud of. This program thinks its the best but there are a lot of flaws and it seriously has a ton to work on to make it better starting with teachers who actually want to teach students that don't understand the material as well instead of ignoring them.ex: we were in nursing lab in groups practicing on each other what we had just learned. The teachers were walking around for assistance and the main nursing teacher, Ms Watters, came in and I asked her if she could briefly show me how to do it correctly (since everyone in my group was doing it differently I didn't wanna ask them). She said to me with an attitude "I just went over this you should know it." I was shocked that she said that to me and the rest of the group was too. The one girl quickly defended me and said "well its hard to see what your performing when there's 30 kids in the lab at once" then Ms Watters said " oh well then I guess I can show you" this right here is the reason why my whole confidence in nursing was shot, she made me feel like I can never ask a question. After that semester I quite the program. In that moment where she basically said no to answering my question, my passion was gone.

Overall Rating:

This school and their staff is a joke. Me and my friend both went through our prerequisite courses at Bucks County Community College. Both received identical GPA’s with me even topping him out in my math courses. I have A’s in my math courses and a B average on my sciences. He was accepted and I was denied. The reason given was that my math grades and science grades were poor. Yes, I got A’s in my math courses and a B average in my sciences and they told me I wasn’t accepted due to bad grades in those departments. Yet my friend was accepted.

Overall Rating:

They don't even deserve one star. They're extremely overpriced, will tell you whatever they have to to get you to sign your life away, then throw you to the wolves. Might be ok for working adults, and I hear the nursing program is up to par, but DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!! It's a shame you work so hard to send your child to college, hoping they will get the best education possible in a safe, nurturing environment; well that's definitely not what you'll get at GMU. My child was racially profiled, bullied and harassed by several members the staff, and could barely make it through one semester. My calls and emails were refused, and "nobody's available" when I went to visit the campus to find out what's going on. I can only hope and pray that he'll be willing to try another college in the future.

Overall Rating:

Great four-year university. I am a commuter student, and love that I can attend a prestigious university yet still live at home. Class sizes are small- usually under 30 students or less, and the professors provide individualized teaching experience due to the small class size. You are more than just a number in the classroom; you are truly a name. The campus is crisp and clean. Older buildings are being renovated each year, adding to the modern feel of this university. Every time that I have ever eaten at the cafeteria, I have always enjoyed the food. Centrally located around a magnitude of stores and places to shop and eat at.
