Graduation Rate

Grayson College graduation rate is below the national average.

19% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Grayson College completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

A great community college I’ve ever known

Overall Rating:

Horrible school so far. They claimed to have lost my transcripts I sent them but they never came back to my address. I sent an email about those transcripts over a month ago and still haven’t heard anything back. They don’t really seem to like to communicate. Tried applying for their nursing program but didn’t get in because of my transcripts being “missing”. So I won’t be trying with this school again.

I've been going here for the past 2 semesters. The registration office has their heads so far up their fifth point of contact it isn't even funny. My wife and I went to the registration today and talked to Zach. This guy couldn't find his way out of a brown paper sack of both ends were open and sun was shining through. My wife told Zach she has never been to the school before and he continued to look in the computer system for her as a returning student. If you do decide to go here stay away from Zach in the registration office.

Overall Rating:

I have attended two major Texas universities and have two Associate's degrees from Grayson. Grayson's Instructors are much less egotistical and more down to earth than universities, and Grayson is a fantastic place to complete Texas core requirements for university Bachelor's degrees while picking up an Associate's at the same time. Grayson's Admissions, advising, and other admin departments are easily on par, if not better than other major Texas universities, not being nearly as gruff, rude, or condescending. Grayson honestly hand-holds students compared to universities. The negative comments come from students who have obviously never dealt with or attended a major university let alone a local college like Grayson. They decided to apply the last week before classes, and/or had trouble following the admissions process that is the same for all Texas colleges and university.

I go there to trainings every year, and have always had good experiences with the support staff. They can tell you anything you need to know about any location on campus. Other than the fact that their volunteers average age was above 60 i have no complaints. ( not that i don't like people with more experience, it's just young people need to volunteer more.)
