Graduation Rate

Fortis Institute-Erie graduation rate is below the national average.

44% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Fortis Institute-Erie completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

This place is a joke..sat back and watched as they gave my adopted brother student loans (govt money) and had no intention of helping him graduate ..talked a great game saying they had programs for persons with learning disabilities ..they sure did have programs! Ones that take whatever type of govt money they can get, string them along until they can find a reason to get them out just in time for the money to run out ..stay far away from this institution !! More interested in scamming the govt out of money( which we all pay for ) than helping students..several calls to fortis and not one return call..I own a business and will tell everyone I come into contact with what a scam this so called school is !!

Overall Rating:

Terrible---very disappointing. Of the 26 student's that entered the LPN program with my daughter, 3 graduated. That is shameful. Very unprofessional, uncoordinated, sloppy program.Update 6/29/17--Dysfunction goes straight to the top administrators at this institution. We meet with the President to have my daughter's concerns addressed, he seemed very concerned and compassionate and told her he would respond to her within a couple of weeks. After numerous phone calls and dropping by the school, we finally gave up. He never gave her a final response and on one occasion when she stopped in, he was completely clueless as to who she was or her issues. Stay far away from Fortis.

I wish I could do 0 stars. This school cheated not only myself, but my entire class out of a proper education. Nursing staff does not know what they are doing.
