Student Reviews and Ratings for South University-Accelerated Graduate Programs
First off, laughing hysterically over the review posted 8 months ago from the, now terminated, Director saying “this place makes you leave your stress and worries behind you”- I’ve never read a more untrue statement in my life!!!! My time at the Ithaca Finger Lakes School of Massage was BY FAR one the most stressful times of my entire life. Our class made it completely through at least two modalities of our program without receiving the books we needed AND PAID FOR, we were left numerous times without instructors for classes forcing us to “self study”, multiple clinics were canceled at the last minute due to no coverage so family and friends would drive long distances to receive massages from student therapists and had to drive all the way back home. I lost multiple clients due to the constant last minute cancellations. Never received a single apology from upper management for how unprofessional they made us students look. They do not care, at all.I wish I could say the nightmare was over, seeing how I graduated in December of 2018, but nearly four months later I am STILL dealing with these people. My last disbursement of financial aid was supposed to be received in NOVEMBER OF 2018, and even after reporting this school NUMEROUS times to their accreditation agency, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ON MY LOANS AND AID.We had amazing staff to start out our program, I will say that, but those people are no longer with the school due to how it was being ran. These instructors justifiably walked out and that should tell you something. The school now constantly hires and fires instructors just to get as many students through their half a**ed program so they can rake in all the money possible. To sum things up, this is the worst school I have EVER encountered, if they can even still call themselves that. DO NOT GO HERE. Worst mistake of my life, biggest waste of money, and not at all worth the stress it will cause you. They put on a good show, they get new students to do vlogs talking about how amazing the school is, but it is all LIES.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I could write a book on the things that I'm disappointed and dissatisfied with while attending FLSM Ithaca. I will leave it at- I dont reccomend this school to anyone. The best of teachers have left or have been fired. Even after graduating I continue to have issues with this school on giving me my correct transcripts. Imagine being told the day before graduation "you cannot graduate tomorrow unless you sign this payment plan" a payment plan stating I owed over $4k I knew nothing about and the school saying my Pell grant didn't cover? Curious. I wouldn't be surprised if this school closed and made Maryland their main campus.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I attended in 2012 and it was such an amazing, life changing experience that I went back to teach from 2014 to 2018. The mission was to create an amazing experience for students through hard work and love. Going to the school is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.Unfortunately I no longer trust that the management knows what is right for the students. After a dramatic event in September 2018, many of the teachers including me left the school.I truly hope that the spirit of the school will rise again in some form. Until then it is carried on by all the lives it touched.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I have a friend that is like a sister to me. She has given this program 100% and they basically ripped her diploma from her hands months before graduation. No one will in the commitee for school of massage will take the time to talk with her and help her figure out a plan to excel as a massage therapist. You would think that teachers would be dedicated to assisting a student even if that means going to bat for them. It saddens me to see this school only care about recieving there money and not showing dedication to there students. Think about where you want to pursue your education before putting your time, money and effort into this program.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
The staff is so amazing.. everybody works together to make the experience there so enjoyable. They go above and beyond for students and each other. Incredible atmosphere and excellent school!Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
