Student Reviews and Ratings for Excelsior College

Overall Rating:

I started going to this college many years ago. I have never had a problem with any of the personnel in the administrative offices. I do have an issue with teachers who want to use their own books at an exorbitant price for the class. As a military enrollee at this school, it has been a good opportunity to pursue and get my degree. They worked with me early on to consolidate a multiple number of colleges I had attended to compile college credits towards my degree.

Overall Rating:

I've had only one issue throughout the entire time I've attended and it didn't affect my schooling at all (though it did delay it a few months). They are so helpful and respectful! They're completely understanding of the unpredictable schedules of military personnel and were very helpful during the 2017 hurricanes. I will always recommend this college to those who pursue their offered degrees!

I finally graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Administration and Management and I have to say I had my struggles but it was well worth it in the end ! The courses are challenging but doable! After I understood what my teachers wanted and how online works at Excelsior I did really great here ! Online is challenging because you have to dedicate yourself to the work at hand! For some people online is not right, they need that structure of going to class and the attention of the teacher. As a student you must know what is right for you! I am starting on my Masters Degree at Excelsior this is how much I enjoyed this school! For others it might not be right, you have to decide for yourself!

Overall Rating:

I used Excelsior to finish my bachelor's degree and took 6 classes online through them. The coursework is generally pretty good and relevant to the subject. Instructors were all responsive and varied between fair and excellent in terms of knowledge and ability to communicate what they wanted.Advisors leave something to be desired, as they were not always responsive and information provided wasn't always the clearest. However, credit transfer policy was generous, especially in terms of accepting military training.Classes are also fairly expensive when compared to other online options. Overall a good option for those using employer or military tuition reimbursement or veteran benefits, but I would consider other options if paying out of pocket.

My experience was great. I got my Associates & now working on my Bachelors. Advisors kept me on track and were very helpful. You cannot beat the 8 week classes either. They move you along at a doable pace.
