The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.
Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Empire Beauty School-Union is 14:1, that means that for every 14 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Empire Beauty School-Union
I was quoted one price but given a different price by the instructor. Mr.Jones came over tp close out my bill and told me I had to pay for style that was not given to me. I have natural hair and asked for my hair to be washed and twisted so i can let it dry. The student who billed me, billed for the wash and style. $7. The professor billed me for braids and twist. $30 . I had my hair twisted and a form of style. Not to have it stay in. I would recommend that you clarify the quote before you get in the chair.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™

I visited this school to attend. The career planner was actually VERY nice.I have heard many bad complaints from people who have attended. Saying teachers don't show up and you have to learn for yourself. I actually asked her about this and she did explain this would only happen if they were in between hiring period, but this does not happen. While i was waiting the teacher was pushing the students to get up and do stuff, or she would clock them out for just sitting there. The only reason why I did not sign up with this school is because tuition is roughly $16,000.00. It is in terrible condition (they need to remodle badly). And i have decided to still go with Empire but with the Paramus location, which I fell in love with the friendly staff and students, etc. Oh and currently the tuition is alot less, for now that is...Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
