Graduation Rate

CUNY Bronx Community College graduation rate is below the national average.

11% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to CUNY Bronx Community College completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.

Living and traveling throughout several states, I'm grateful for my CUNY education.I had some of the best times of my life while going to school in the Bronx. I've since moved on, traveled the world and finally settled down to have a family. I'm pursuing a Master's on the other coast but I'll never forget what I learned from this CUNY college. The professors are very knowledgeable and are down to earth. If I ever do teach, I will do so at a community College because of this. The NY ambient is un-rivaled too. There's a bit of the NY subway magic in the air: "you could be sitting next to a millionaire or to a bum on the 4 train." I love the randomness and Irony that is city has to offer.Did you know it was the original NYU? The roots go deep here. A diamond in the rough indeed.

great school loved all my teachers. I went in for business management and finished in Summer of 2017. The school does offer tutoring services for those who struggle with math since its been said that math is a tough subject from a majority of the students.

Overall Rating:

It's a community college so don't expect Ivy League services. By this point you should sort of be on your own or looking more towards pears or some professors. I went for Auto Tech (Haven't finished for personal reasons but plan on going back) and the instructors were very straight forward with us. They won't tell you after you finish college you'll work for big companies, they'll tell you to take what you learn from here and use that to get yourself somewhere you want. I wish they had more funding because the engine class can be a pain with 3 people working on a small infinity engine and the instructors are aware of that. I have mix feelings of this college but when dealing with their Auto Tech staff I felt very engaged and that if I had a question I could ask. Basically if you're going here for the field I'm going to do this isn't your worse choice. The reviews for other colleges with auto Tech still in NY are so much more scarier then coming here and trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. Besides that (sorry for all that) the supply store they have is abit expensive with their items, the cafeteria is nice and spacious, their library is huge and the computers work. Other then that you are attending a COMMUNITY college not Fordham University so don't expect the world some of these reviews are making it seem although be wary, staff and service contact is pretty BS. Lastly look for ASAP they help big with books and smaller classes. Hope you enjoyed the story.

Many people underestimate Bronx Community College. The staff as well as the students are very supportive. It is wonderful to be a part of an organization where the majority of the staff represents the community. I have had a few professors who were once students here. Bronx Community is truly making a difference.
