Do not ever go here. Every semester I go through hell trying to get my financial aid only to be told days after the priority deadlines that I have a NEW "requirement" that must be completed. How is this okay? The financial aid office is a mess, this includes TCAT as well. I wish I was being dramatic, but without fail, every semester there is a problem and I am not informed till after the last minute. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here thinking I have completed everything for my financial aid, because I check as soon as possible to see what all needs to be turned in. Terrible communication with their students. If I could do it all over again, I would 100% go to school elsewhere. It has caused me so much anxiety, I have cried worried about being able to afford school every semester and now I'm just pissed.-5/10 would not recommend

It was great for the first 2 semesters, but the further you get along with your focused programs the staff lets things get through the cracks. There were a series of events that took place during my time at that school. From un-knowledgeable advisors, out of date information being circulated and confusing students, and misinformed financial aid staff. I ended up losing all my scholarships after only making 2 C's in my entire college career of 6 full time semesters.Come to get your Gen Eds then transfer ASAP

We have had some of the worst experiences with this school. None of the departments seem to communicate at all and it can be a real headache for the students. Some of the teachers are so severely disorganized and then expect their pupils to basically teach themselves. Most of what the graphics arts students are learning will be outdated before they even graduate because the textbooks and software are old versions. You'll even get teachers who make their own books part of the required materials and you'll literally never use half of them... Makes no sense.Dangerous road conditions? Chattanooga State DOES NOT CARE! Part of the campus is currently flooded and they are still holding classes and expecting everyone to allow extra time to get in through the detour... Nevermind the already cramped parking now having an entire section less to use. Where do they expect to park all those people? The answer is, they didn't think about it and they don't care. They don't consider the students or faculty that don't live in the immediate area. Many areas are flooded and they couldn't care less. This situation is a prime example of how things work here.Parking is atrocious, some amazing teachers and many subpar, no uniformed way of doing things and no communication between anyone. They make students use elearn but many teachers don't post anything on there. What is the point in having something so accessible and useful and not requiring the staff to use it? Their tigerweb site is handled outside of the area and is not remotely user friendly but again, they don't care. You're better off getting an online degree and cutting out the hassle of dealing with this place.

I have had some great Instructors here. But some not so great. Some of the professors for the online classes seem very preoccupied and God forbid if you would like to speak with them over the phone. And they don't offer any tutoring during the summer for any classes that I am aware of, even though the tuition price is the same for the summer as fall and spring.
