Graduation Rate

42%
BELOW AVERAGE

Capitol Technology University graduation rate is below the national average.

42% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Capitol Technology University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Capitol Technology University

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

My son has attended CTU since 2014. He has done very well, making the Dean's List his first/second semesters. He has expressed that he has had quite a few professors that he likes and enjoys the challenges in their classes. He is scheduled to graduate in 2019 with two degrees. The Financial aide department staff are GREAT!

Overall Rating:

When the institution was Capitol College the doctoral school focused on individual learning. Example, the faculty would have a working breakfast with doctoral students to review their dissertation. Now as Capitol Technology University the individual learning is lost and students are treated more of a factory production item.

Small campus with great staff

Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™

Overall Rating:

Capitol Technology University has a beautiful campus and is a nice place to walk around. During the spring, when the trees are in bloom, the pathway leading to the university is spectacular. The university offers excellent degree programs, certificate programs, and resources to students. The university is not far from Laurel and major roadways for a quick trip around town or to Washington D.C.

Overall Rating:

I would caution anyone considering this as a first school. I am a transfer student so I am accustomed to inattentive staff by all means, but to a new college student, this would be a very off-putting first choice. They have very consistently neglected to return calls that they arranged to be returned in various sections of the school, including but not limited to Advising and Registrations & Records. This holds true to emails as well although not quite as often so far. Welcoming, friendly and genuinely helpful faculty but as far as I can see, very poorly organized. This review may very well change as I will be attending for the Summer and likely the remainder of the acquisition of my Bachelor's. If you are applying, be diligent; they won't.
