Graduation Rate

Loading...
22%
BELOW AVERAGE

Cameron University graduation rate is below the national average.

22% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Cameron University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t consider students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

Be warned, if you transferring here they probably won't be able to figure out your credits. I came here with a majority of university credits which they couldn't figure out how to translate. Biology 101 and 102 are not hard to figure out. Yall are lucky to have anyone transfer here, and should make every effort to ease that transition.

Financial aid was a bit of a pain, it took me forever to get me coded as an in state student, very stressful when you are someone who plans on using their refund check. So far, my teachers are pretty good. If you want a school to hold your hand, this is not the place. Show up for class, study, and do your homework, you will pass. If your degree program requires you to attend courses at another school for your field related credits, make sure you have a long talk with your academic advisor to iron out the details. I needed a CPR and Work keys test for mine and I made sure I completed the requirements long before I had to apply for entry into my field related classes. I also made sure all my scheduled classes were what I needed to apply. My advisor Cody was great. She made sure I was only taking the courses I needed any I might what to pick up or retake to stengthen my application for my field classes.

Overall Rating:

Worst 1 1/2 of my life there. l went there because the recruiters that went to my school amped it up to be a great friendly school. That was soo far from the truth. I got close to nothing back on my financial aid even though I had fafsa and other grants and scholarships. I had to pay out of pocket for most of my items. I got so much more help and aid back at Rose state than I did at Cameron. I literally didn't pay for anything at Rose .Professors are rude and will not work with you even if it was just a few questions after class, their radio and broadcasting classes are a joke. And they make the freahman courses so hard to pass that it's like they sabotage you from the beginning for you to fail, because the information they give you is completely irrelevant to the questions on the exams. Top it all off NO credits will transfer. They would not tell me why but when I moved back to okc i had to start all over again because of them would transfer.. needless to say I will not be recommending ANYONE to go there!!!
