Graduation Rate

Brightwood College-Baltimore graduation rate is below the national average.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This index doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

The biggest regret of my life!!!!

Overall Rating:

Im not suprised this school has closed down. My husband had a medical emergency in which i had to care for him full time for a few weeks. Instead letting me take a leave of absence i was told to choose my degree or my husbands health. I had to withdraw and now have loans still. This was in 2013 when they were tesst. Not longer than that thdy became Brightwood. Now look. They were biased and unsupportive of any program outside of nursing.

I attended the HVAC program when they were still under the name tesst Community College. The first two courses were about nine month and the instructors were pretty good even though you could not understand the accent of the first instructor he was well knowledged in his field. The last part of the program which was the hands on portion was horrible. The instructor was not interested at all in teaching. He talked about his personal life and how much money he made doing side jobs after work how he went to loafers and a lobsters with his wife. Pretty much bragging on the fact that he got paid to do nothing and what he can do with that money. He allowed students to come to class and leave whenever they wanted to and still gave him credit for the full day. He allowed them to disrupt the class by having improper conversations. Eating in class. Walking in and out whenever they wanted to. One person even watch the football game and yelled out we got a touchdown and he reacted as well. There were Junkies nodding out going to sleep and still got credit for that day. He change answers on a survey that was given to us. I went to his supervisors and they did nothing about it. I have recordings of activity that went on in the class. If a student came in and knew a little bit more than others they were the teacher for that month. Every time I would report something going on they would call us into the office but really nothing was done until one day we came to the class and they had swapped teachers the last quarter with one that didn't know where we were at in apple earning process. It was pretty much a circus he allowed us to cheat on every test no one but a father and son earned degrees. Every place I interviewed at sayed that they get students from there that haven't been taught. The teacher name is Mr. Allen. I would not recommend going there and taking HVAC if he's still there.
