The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.
Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t consider students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Bishop State Community College is 19:1, that means that for every 19 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

The worst school I have ever attended their unorganized, unprofessional, rude, I feel so bad for any student especially existing highschool Student beware the will not advise you properly, the admissions is discouraging they make black people look bad and the white staff have nasty attitudes as well Just throw the entire school in the 🚮 How is it these full-time student who are getting grant money in their Name not have enough money to pay for books, or anything they may need to successfully finish each semester The financial department will make an excuse to take away most of all your pell Grant coming up with some type of fee for their school! But the money is in the student Name! The school is in the black community and the downfall of most students who enroll! SHAME ON YOU BISHOP STATE! SHUT THIS SCHOOL DOWN AND RELOCATE IT PLEASE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE FUTURE!!Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™

Bishop State is really a great place to start, they have a lot to offer students....from resources, a great learning center where you can go get help for classes you may need tutoring in, and also really great instructor's that actually care to help students learn and succeed. It's not just a community college, but the opportunity for you is so much bigger! Anyone who is looking for an affordable college where you can benefit from so many great resources and learning skills to help you become successful...... Bishop State is the place for you! I love it! #PTA studentSource of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
The department dealing with transcripts is very unprofessional and rude. I have been trying for four months to get three copies of my transcript. They sent one although I put 3 where it asked how many. I mailed in another request for two more. I never received them. I emailed the admissions department to see what happened. They responded back asking where to send it and I responded. However, I never received them. I then called and was told to do another request. I did another request in September. I just spoke with them only to tell me that they sent only one again on October 3rd. Her reason was because I only had one place listed to send and she didn't see why they would need two copies. So I then had to explain that it was going to the same place. Once received, the department would see to it that all three committee members got a copy. I shouldn't have had to explain that since on the request I asked for two. Furthermore more it's not for her to know why! What's the purpose of putting the number needed on the form if they only send the number they feel should be sent. No where on the transcript request does it ask why you need them. It just ask how many. I now have to send off another request for the third one. By the time I request another one and wait for it in the mail, it will be past the deadline at my job. I will have to wait until next year. This has been four months of nonsense.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
