ABOVE AVERAGE

Baldwin Beauty School-South Austin graduation rate is above the national average.

63% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Baldwin Beauty School-South Austin completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into consideration students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

I bought my mother a Groupon back in May and called and made her an appointment, mentioning the Groupon. I was told the appointment would need to be either at 9a or 1p. I chose the 1p. My mother took off of work to be there at 1pm. She gets there and they told her that her “ethnic” hair would take longer and she would have to come back another day at like 9a. To color her greys and trim her ends? It was such a disgusting experience I. Stop being prejudice against black clients Baldwin. It would not have taken 4hours to do her hair.

FUTURE COSMETOLOGY STUDENTS: DO NOT GO TO SCHOOL HERE! Please for your own sanity, do not attend this school. There is endless amounts of petty drama that even the owners of the school partake in. Picking favorites and neglecting other students, cliques, disgusting rumors and the worst interpersonal conflict issues I’ve ever heard of. If you respect yourself and your life, just go somewhere else, please. Don’t make the same mistake that me and many other people I’ve met in the industry have made.

They give full attention to the need of the customer. I always have haircut here since they respond to my suggestion very well without rushing to get more customer. Some very talented people here especially for hair cut.

Overall Rating:

Don’t buy the Groupon!!!! According to the instructor it is worded incorrectly and even though my Groupon said color, highlight or lowlights, cut, conditioner and style. I had to pay an extra to get an all over color bc apparently the color is only to cover your greys which at the end I was told I have stubborn greys that didn’t take. And it doesn’t come with the highlight option. I went in wanting one thing and left with something else. For what I paid with the Groupon and additional charges. I should have just went to a regular hair salon. I do have to say the student was great. She did her best. But lesson learned.

Overall Rating:

What a great place to get your hair cut, dye, or just shampoo. The students and instructors are very professional and friendly. Not only are you helping a student to grow in this field, but you are paying a lot less than you would at a salon. I do wish the hours were a little different, but it is understandable (students have a life too and still have classes outside the salon). You may even find a new hair dresser too in the process. :)
