The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.
Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes a huge number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare educational institutions.
The student-to-faculty ratio at Apex Academy of Hair Design Inc is 2:1, that means that for every 2 students the institution has one professor, lecturer or specialist with a degree in education. Lower student-to-faculty ratio is better - it means that professors can dedicate more time and attention to each student.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Apex Academy of Hair Design Inc
I have been to 2 other schools before Apex. I can say I had the best results with Apex. I also have a learning disability and I had no problems at apex. I enjoyed it they helped me to prepare for my state board and Beverly Shrake went above to help me understand and she explained thing to where I could understand it. I over all loved my experience at Apex.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I graduated from Apex in 2010! I absolutely loved everything about this school! The friendships, the clients and our instructors!! I learned everything a cosmetologist should and passed my state boards the very first time!! My best friend recommended Apex Academy and I was able to attend part time my senior year in high school which was pretty amazing so I could start my passion even sooner! I would definitely recommend this school for anyone and everyone!!Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
Apex is a great place to go to for friendly service and great prices! Most of the students were nice except the few who liked arguing with the instructor while a client was there. They acted entitled to do what they wanted to instead of following the instructions they were given. Besides that, my experiences there have always been enjoyable and the facility was always clean.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I received a shampoo. cut, perm, color and set the first part of 2015 from Apex. I was very well satisfied with the service and have received many compliments from my friends since this was done. In fact, just Tuesday when I visited my dermatologist one of his nurses said, "I really like your perm." I will go back to Apex. Of course I was so pleased with the charge. Not only pleased but amazed to get so much for so little. I also was so aware of how pleasant and friendly all of the staff was.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
I attended this disgusting, run-down nightmare of a school. It felt more like a women's prison. The instructors would call you by your last name and force you to park your car in a back alley/disheveled backyard of an old, scary house. One instructor was very rough around the edges. She was very much like a prison guard. There was nothing "beautiful" about this "beauty school." It was mostly focused on state board sets, perms and roller sets. This school uses the students as slaves. Aside from doing hair of the clientele that come in while paying the school to "teach" you (which they do a very poor job of), they make students work the front desk for an entire week on rotation. This means that during the time the student could be acquiring the necessary amount of services needed to graduate, they are being held back by working the front desk and answering the phone for an entire week. This is a job that many cosmetology schools actually HIRE someone and pay them to do. But Apex and Sharon are far too cheap to do something like that.Speaking of cheap, this school has not updated anything since the day it opened. It is very run down. At one point, there was mold growing in the school. There is a nasty stench that permeates throughout the school.I still have nightmares of attending this school. Not only was the school itself disgusting, but the instructors were terrible at what they did and poor role models. Nearly all of the instructors smoke. Sharon does not care about the students. She cares about getting paid. The "classroom" part of this school is in a damp, dark basement that looks much like a torture chamber that could be seen in a horror flick. The desks are rickety and old. There is not a clean break room for students to have lunch in. Students are allowed to smoke outside on the back steps and hold the door open, exposing other students to second hand smoke. There is not proper ventilation on the clinic floor, so students are breathing in nasty chemicals from perms and hair dyes every day. The owner selects all of the cheapest ingredients for the school and does not care a thing about quality. There is disgusting, dirty, very old makeup that probably has bacteria growing all over it. Students are expected to use this to do "makeup applications" on their clients. The wax pot is disgusting and dirty. The pedicure bowls are old, but of course the school is too cheap to even consider replacing them.Instead of hiring a professional cleaning crew, she makes the students do all the cleaning chores around the place including vacuuming and cleaning toilets. This should not be legal considering that students are PAYING to go to school here and on top of their tuition, they are bringing in more money from providing hair services to clients that come in the school. And on top of this, Sharon wants to use them to do the house work as well! Unbelievable, but this is normal for Apex!I suggest finding a better beauty school that focuses on quality even if it is a bit more expensive. Apex is a poor introduction into the world of cosmetology for any aspiring cosmetologist. It completely turned me off to the salon world. It was a disgusting hell hole. Going to school here was, by far, one of the WORST and more demoralizing experiences of my life.I hated going to this womens prison every day for a year. It was a terrible experience that I wish I could say was never a part of my life.Source of the review: Google Places, Google Maps™
