Graduation Rate

Loading...
63%
ABOVE AVERAGE

Adelphi University graduation rate is above the national average.

63% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Adelphi University completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This indicator doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading picture. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare institutions.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Adelphi University

Overall Rating:

Overall Rating:

I'm a commuter and a junior nursing student and I transfered here. For commuters it's great for housing people I hear it's not that good at all. I live 20 min from the school and so far I enjoy it. I work at the school too. For anyone interested in nursing, the program here is great I personally love the professors, clinicals is amazing the students are all willing to work together. Of corse it's challenging nothing is easy but man they reward you in the end. Best decision I've made. Yes overall the school is expensive and you do am have to pay extra for books, and little things for nursing which is a a pain but honestly you go anywhere else it's going to be the same thing so there's no running away from that. Administration are nice, and for me since I do commute it's go to class, work and go home. Im not a big social person I'm more of a get down to work girl so social life I could care less. Everyone minds their buisness, no drama, and there's SO much to do with lots of benefits. Best school I've been to. Can't wait to graduate!

Overall Rating:

I just transferred to Adelphi and so far my classes seem alright. I think this school would be better for commuters. Housing here is a complete joke. They are very controlling for subpar housing. My last school had way better housing and was not as strict. They apparently have hyper sensitive fire alarms for what reason? I have no idea because these rooms don't look extremely nice to be that paranoid. A person can't even do (blow dry/ straighten) his/her hair in his/her room. He/she would have to go to the communal bathroom for that (with doesn't even guarantee the fire alarm not going off.) It's ridiculous for the cost of this place. When attending a floor meeting, it felt as though you were being told everything you can't do. It feels almost as a mistake for me coming here. I don't know if I was just use to better housing at my last school (which felt as you were more at home), but some of these rules are pathetic. If I was a commuter then maybe this review would be better. Personally, I think living comfortably plays an important part in college life. (Most of this info I did not find out until coming here)

Overall Rating:

I never studied here. As all universities they work in the way to earn money. Nice campus, class rooms I saw is not better than in any cuny college. 1200$ per credit, we are not sure how many credits you will need(mb 33 mb 66) I guess if you don't have bachelor in business, it's going to be 66 credits for MBA program

Overall Rating:

PLEASE READ! The academic quality in my opinion is the only thing that holds weight. Incoming freshmen please seek to be taught by the Eldest professors in your major/field of study. They've been around for a long time and they know more than the younger professors in the field. I've seen this proven true time and time again, they've developed teaching styles and patterns which are effective and engaging for student learning. A lot of my issue with this school stems from amateur instructors who are placed where they should not be and ALMOST ALWAYS will have the lowest review on rate my professor, failing students, miserable course reviews and more. And a great handful have only graduated after 2008 with their degrees. As for the students, well this is Long Island and most of the students who go here live in Long Island or are from one of the 5 boroughs. Long Island, historically being the most segregated borough in NYC, one would expect that the attitude is different. You have to find your niche at Adelphi, one of the most frustrating things is that you will run into a lot of snooty rich kids who sit high and look low. If the shoe fits wear it. The faculty can be a burden at times but if I were to include the faculty and students in my review it will not be 5 stars, maybe 2 or 3. However, having both lived on campus and commuted to Adelphi. The overall value of your education is based on the education you receive. And it is quality education. I can only speak for my school which is the Derner School of Advanced Psychological Studies. Good Luck!
