Graduation Rate

Academy of Cosmetology graduation rate is above the national average.

82% of full-time students enrolled for the first time to Academy of Cosmetology completed the education program and got a degree in 150 percent of the expected time of completion.

The graduation rate value includes only programs that were completed less than six years for four-year degrees or less than three years for two-year degrees.

Graduation rate is the percentage of institution’s new-entering, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. Graduation rate excludes an extensive number of students. This index doesn’t take into account students of nontraditional enrollments - part-time students, students who enroll mid-year, and who transfer from one institution to another. So graduation rate alone can create a misleading perception. Completion rate in the form of total number of students receiving any types of awards/degrees creates a complete picture. Combining this data with graduation rate is a better way to compare schools.

Student Reviews and Ratings for Academy of Cosmetology

Overall Rating:

I went in looking for a cheap, simple hair cut. I was very pleased with the entire experience. I had my hair cut by a student who was still very professional (Mikhaela, according to the business card I was given) Very friendly, clean environment. I will admit I was a little nervous about having a student cut my hair, but A. It will grow back no matter what and B. They have the teacher/mentors come over and examine it, give them tips to improve, and in my case at least, added the finishing touchings to make sure it was perfect and exactly as I wanted it. Definitely got my money's worth and then some :)

Prices are cheapest around & the students do a fabulous job on hair. I'd rate this as good as any other salon and it's nice to give these students the practice. I've never have nor known anyone who was disappointed when they left! Super nice people & very knowledgeable of the hair industry!

I went in for a manicure, pedicure, wax and Scalp conditioning. 3 hours later this is what I looked like. The student was very nice. But I feel like she is getting ripped off with this education. I don't mean to sound rude but this was a horrible experience. The manni and pedi took 2 hours. Then the scalp massage only lasted 5 minutes and the rest of the time was blow drying my hair. When I left my hair was still wet. They had forgot about the waxing and I wasn't going to stay any longer so I didn't bring it up.

My hair looked terrible from another stylist, I came here to have them fix it. I came in hating my hair and left loving it. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

Before it was tricoci, it was a different school (not that long ago maybe a year if even). I paid $10 out of $50 for an application to go there. I applied and did the application and school tuition application everything. Well I got a call asking if I wanted to tour the new campus and re do everything I had done. At this point I was wondering if that was a sign I shouldn’t go since I had wasted hours before for them to no longer have any of my info. I called and asked if I could get my $10 back cos that application was obviously invalid and didn’t even exist anymore. They told me no those fees don’t get paid back. WOW. If you’re going to switch companies or whatever it is that happend, make sure you get all students or applications transferred too. Really crappy and unorganized. I do have a job and don’t have all the time and $ in the world to just give. If I do decide to go to school again, it will not be here
